About Unveiled

Hey! The name’s Makayla. I’m a ‘millennial’ Christian, just trying to find my way through life and documenting my thoughts and feelings through this blog.

The reason behind the name of Unveiled, comes from when I read 2 Corinthians 3:16-18:

16 Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are – face to face! 17 They suddenly recognise that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognised as obsolete. We’re free of it!
18 All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.

I didn’t think much of that scripture then, but it wasn’t until I kept hearing the old school gospel song “Beyond the veil” by Daryl Coley on my Spotify, my friends telling me that my past, present and future is “blogworthy” and the fact my 29th birthday was fast approaching and I wanted to document 30 things before I turned 30. I kept putting it off – hence my first blog post about procrastination – but God put me in my rightful place when again on the 6th February 2018, I was reading 2 Cor. 3:16-18 in my Woman Thou Art Loosed Bible (ladies, give it a read) and there it was, a “Gospel Pearl”, confirming that I should start my blog:

I am telling you that when your desire for the future peaks, you can break out of prison. I challenge you to sit down and write thirty things you would like to do with your life and scratch them off, one by one, as you accomplish them

And now here we are. About to begin this journey of transformation.
